Mother's Heart

A mother's heart is like no other
To ker children she gives beyond all measure.
A smile, a tear, a cherished memory,
Each moment inscribed on the heart of the family.

A calming touch, a healing kiss,
A word of caution or praise from her lips.
Time can never diminish her love and care,
Unconditional love beyond compare

"All Was Fine"

My life was going pretty fine
Or at least that night at, oh, about nine.
We had dinner and all was well
We headed home, the rest I'll tell...
We were all laughing and having fun
We heard a crash, was it a gun?
The crash we heard was a forty-six pound rock
Which killed my Mom and brought me shock.
I'll never see my mother in this life again
I hope they know what they did was a sin.

Poem By: Marilyn Faye Glass

This poem was written by my twin sister a couple days after my mother was killed. Kay

Grandma's House

In Grandma's house I remember
The smell of roses and fresh baked pie.
I recall the sounds of dishes clatter,
And birds at the feeders cry.

Each time we made a visit there,
Some new trinket caught my eye
A porcelain doll, a figurine,
The Bible by Her side.

Her house was filled with treasures,
Made of memories of the past.
The pictures of old relatives and
Flowers from Her garden in a jelly glass.

In Grandma's house there was constant chatter
My senses come alive with memories of laughter
The dressers Held lotions, and bottles of perfume
On doilies of lace She made in Her room.

I never saw the dust and dirt,
She claimed She could not clean
I only felt the warmth and love
Of a handmade quilt She used to cover me.

At night

after I've done it all right
after I did all all I could
for everyone who needs me
after the smiles I was forced to make come off
and the weariness hits, and I'm all alone.
That's when I miss you the most.
That's when I stop thinking I can do it anymore.
That's when hope falters and
sadness fills my heart with such astounding force,
it takes my breath away.
It's hard to believe the sun will be out in a few hours
And I'll move like I'm supposed to move
And make it look like I'm showing up for this life
This life that took you too soon
and left me with the nights, the horrible nights,
when I miss you the most.
