What is the color of
mourning?

Black?
In the past the wearing of a black arm band, black clothing or a
black veil to show grief, was the only way to let others know that
we have experienced a death, and are in mourning. The absence of
color is thought to be black, but black is actually all colors.
Now ribbons show an array of colors and causes worn in memory of
those that honor lives lost in many causes.

Red?
The color of support to those that have died and are battling the
deadly virus - Aids. It was one of the first Ribbons to be displayed
by many people in hopes of Aids/HIV awareness.
This ribbon also symbolizes the War Against Drugs. This war is fought
in hopes that children need never face another AIDS plague.

Pink?
The color of remembrance for women that battle breast cancer. This
is not limited to those that have lost that battle, but also the
survivors.

Yellow?
Supporters of those that fought in Desert Storm, or were missing
in action in other conflicts displayed yellow ribbons in hope of
the soldiers safe return. The yellow ribbon has gained popularity
for those that are POW's.

Green?
The color of earth, the color of peace, the color of growth.
We display this ribbon for our planet, for the animals and it's
continued growth. We hope awareness of unnatural toxins will stop
the earth from being altered or destroyed.

White?
Crimes against children, the pure the innocent. Manipulation that
our children should never face. This ribbon supports all those children
that have been used in pornography.
It is also the symbol of peace and anti-hate. Worn at weddings to
show the innocence and beginning of new life.

Purple?
A color of the highest honor. To show the honor and respect for
those wounded or missing in the military. Men and women that have
become true hero's and given selflessly of their Heart. It now is
the symbol for people against violence.

Blue?
The blue ribbon has been widely recognized as a national symbol
of child abuse awareness. Bruises are black, then eventually blue;
therefore, blue serves as a constant reminder to fight for our children.
This symbol is also recognized for children against school violence.
This is also a symbol of Free speech.

1.
Red-- courage
2. White-- purity
3. Blue-- vigilance, justice
4. Stars-- unity; the States
5. Stripes-- the 13 colonies
Many nations have displayed the colors
of red, white and blue which have stood for freedom. Many flags
bear these colors. In America the earliest of flags that showed
our hope and respect for those that fought for freedom were displayed
in red, white and blue. Today this ribbon once again shows the world
that we are proud of freedom and honor all those that have given
their lives to protect and defend that freedom.
